From a young age, I felt drawn to make a difference, turning empathy into action and playing my part no matter how small.
My journey began in 2012 when I was just 18 years old. I noticed a young girl crying across the street in Surulere. Curious, I asked my little cousin to find out why she was so upset. She was worried because her parents could not afford her junior WAEC exams. Without hesitation, I gave her my last six thousand naira to contribute toward her fees. I did not know if it would be enough, but it encouraged her father to cover the rest.
Five years later, I met her again in Lagos. She reminded me of that day, now a university student, expressing her heartfelt gratitude. Her story showed me the profound impact of even small acts of generosity.
Over the years, my giving has grown to support young people with educational scholarships at secondary and tertiary institutions, both public and private. I have helped cover school fees from primary school through university, ensuring that financial hardship does not end a young person’s dreams.
I also sponsor professional courses outside Nigeria for talented youths who deserve opportunities to grow beyond their environment.
Beyond education, I assist with medical bills, emergency expenses, and eye surgeries, reaching those whose basic needs are often overlooked. These moments of support remind me that compassion must extend beyond one area of life and into every situation where people need hope.
As my focus expanded from individuals to communities, I engaged in humanitarian and empowerment initiatives across Nigeria. In 2021, I visited the Makoko community in Lagos, providing wheelchairs to persons with disabilities and supporting indigenous women entrepreneurs with financial assistance and business tools.
This experience deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities and strengthened my determination to create lasting impact.
In 2023, I extended my vision globally by founding the Bluelilly Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative, an NGO addressing climate change and community development. Today, our network includes over 500 volunteers across Nigeria and Europe, all committed to creating positive change.
I have led and mobilized more than 100 volunteers in clean-up initiatives in Lagos and Ilorin, working together to improve sanitation and environmental awareness.
Our work has included a water bank clean-up and waste bin donation in Oworonshoki, where 96 volunteers removed waste and promoted responsible disposal. We donated waste bins to empower the community to maintain cleanliness.
In another initiative, our team successfully evacuated 17 tonnes of waste from a major road, improving sanitation, public health, and awareness about responsible waste management.
