From Advocacy to Action: Launching a Movement for Lagos Mainland

It’s been a long time coming, and I’ve made a point to bring you all along at every step of my journey, from modeling and filmmaking, to social work, climate advocacy, policy, governance, and now grassroots politics. This weekend’s tour of all 11 wards of my constituency in Lagos mainland reinforced the importance of building our own community. As a young woman in today’s politics, I know the odds because of gender and age are often stacked against me, but I believe you don’t truly know your strength until you take a bold step. That’s what I have done.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and contributed to this journey, especially my sister @wumiogunrotimi whose call on a sunny Sunday woke me from a long sleep and inspired me to bring my community together for a lifetime of service. Today the “Omoluabi Group” @omoluabimedia and the “Yeside Olasimbo Foundation” @yesideolasimbofoundation are officially launched, and I’m excited for what we will achieve across Lagos Mainland. During the tour I encouraged constituents to register for their PVCs and to participate in our democracy. I also asked for patience and trust for our father @officialasiwajubat to complete the important work he has started. I look forward to building together and seeing what the future holds for the Omoluabi Group.

Thank you all ❤️ ~ Yeside
